These Terms and Conditions (“
Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Light website and the Light Credit feature offered through supported UPI applications (collectively, the “
Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.
1. Definitions
- “Light”, “we”, “our”, or “us” refers to Light and its affiliates.
- “User”, “you”, or “your” refers to any individual accessing or using the Services.
- “Light Credit” refers to the credit facility made available through supported UPI applications.
- “UPI App” refers to a Unified Payments Interface–enabled application through which Light Credit is accessed.
- “Partner” refers to partner banks, NBFCs, or regulated financial institutions providing or supporting the credit facility.
2. Eligibility
To use the Services, you must: - Be at least 18 years of age; - Be legally capable of entering into a binding contract under Indian law; - Have a valid mobile number and UPI-enabled bank account; - Successfully complete KYC and any other verification required by applicable laws or Partners.
Light reserves the right to deny or discontinue Services if eligibility requirements are not met.
3. Nature of Services
- Light provides a technology platform that enables users to access Light Credit via UPI apps.
- Light does not guarantee approval, credit limits, or continued availability of credit.
- Credit is extended by regulated Partner institutions and is subject to their terms, policies, and regulatory requirements.
4. User Obligations
You agree to: - Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information; - Use the Services only for lawful purposes; - Maintain confidentiality of your UPI credentials and device access; - Notify Light immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.
You shall not: - Misuse the Services or attempt to gain unauthorized access; - Use the Services for fraudulent, illegal, or prohibited activities; - Interfere with the operation or security of the platform.
5. Credit Usage and Repayment
- Light Credit usage, limits, interest (if applicable), fees, and repayment terms are determined by Partner institutions and disclosed to you at the time of availing credit.
- You are responsible for timely repayment of all amounts due.
- Delays or defaults may result in penalties, suspension of Services, reporting to credit bureaus, or legal action, as permitted by law.
6. Fees and Charges
- Any applicable fees, interest, or charges will be transparently disclosed before you confirm a transaction.
- Light reserves the right to modify fees or charges, subject to applicable laws and prior notice where required.
7. Suspension and Termination
Light may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, with or without notice, if: - You breach these Terms; - There is suspected fraud, misuse, or illegal activity; - Required by law, regulation, or Partner institutions.
Upon termination, outstanding obligations, including repayment, shall survive.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, software, and materials on the Light website and Services are the property of Light or its licensors.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.
9. Third-Party Services
The Services may integrate with third-party platforms, including UPI apps, banks, and service providers. Light is not responsible for the availability, functionality, or policies of such third parties.
Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and conditions.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided on an “
as is” and “
as available” basis.
Light makes no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: - Light shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages; - Light’s total liability, if any, shall not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) for the Services during the six (6) months preceding the claim.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Light, its affiliates, Partners, and officers from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
Courts located in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising under these Terms.
14. Changes to Terms
Light may modify these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on the Light website with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
